As a metalsmith, I see and think of form first&#8230;&nbsp;the image of immigrants fleeing, the chunks of unearthed concrete, the patterns of old, peeling wallpaper.&nbsp;As an enamellist, I use color to add vibrancy to my imagery and enhance the impact of my statement. Happily, I am not constrained to this direction with my imagery. I also free myself to explore techniques and materials that lead to more spontaneous, playful work.
